The NAACP has selected human right activist and Rhodes Scholar Benjamin Todd Jealous as its 17th president and CEO. Jealous is currently head of the Rosenberg Foundation, a San Francisco-based private foundation that supports advocacy efforts to make improvements in the lives of California’s working families and recent immigrants. He has held that position since 2005. At age 35, Jealous is the youngest executive to lead the civil rights organization. He is replacing Bruce S. Gordon, who resigned in March 2007 after 19 months of tension with the board of directors.
